Has the Market Hit Bottom?

limothumwidget1/13/13: The #1 Question on most people’s minds: Have We Hit Bottom Yet? Answer: NO.
Looking for up to date, accurate information about the state of your local real estate market in your daily paper is like looking for today’s weather forecast in last January’s paper. By the time relevant, accurate pricing information is picked up by daily newspapers, the market has already changed. Added to this is the ‘kind’ of information being reported. The fact of the matter is that if the information being reported is flawed or misleading, then the results will be flawed or misleading. It’s a classic case of ‘garbage in-garbage out.’ The kind of information and data that knowledgeable, expert investors follow is not found in your daily paper. The data serious investors use to make buying and selling decisions consists of data specific to their general location as well as sale data. One data source that is ‘widely’ used in the media and papers but routinely rejected by serious investors is the “Median Price Home Index.” NEVER, ever make a buying or selling decision based on this data. Our next Blog will explain why. Next post 1-14-13.
